Promoting diversity

Our interpreting and translating policy aims to improve customer service and communication by providing guidelines on the use of interpreting and translating services. The policy applies to the following groups:

  • WorkCover staff
  • Claims managers employed by our agent, Employers Mutual 
  • Rehabilitation providers
  • Other service providers

Policy

The policy was updated in April 2003, to help ensure that we (including our service providers) communicate to customers via accredited interpreters or translators when required.

Standards

Interpreters and translators must obtain their accreditation from National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).
